Aluminum coil is a metal sheet, which is melted from aluminum ingots, added with different alloys, and processed into aluminum coils through casting, hot rolling, cold rolling, annealing , cross-cutting and other processes.
1060 aluminum coil should be specified by alloy, temper, thickness, width and delivery requirements. Choosing the grade alone does not define the strength, surface condition or dimensional tolerance needed for your finished part.
Send your drawings or purchasing specification to discuss the material, coil configuration and order details with our team.
Discuss Your Coil RequirementsUse the following checklist to define your order. The requested size, temper, surface and coil configuration are reviewed together before quotation.
| Specification | What to Include in Your Inquiry |
|---|---|
| Alloy and temper | 1060 and the required temper, together with the applicable purchasing specification. |
| Thickness and width | Nominal thickness and width in millimeters, plus the permitted dimensional variation. |
| Surface and edges | Required finish, appearance criteria, protective film requirements and edge condition. |
| Coil configuration | Required inner diameter, maximum outer diameter and acceptable weight per coil. |
| Quantity | Total order weight and any requirements for individual coil weights. |
| Documents and packing | Required material documents, inspection criteria, packing instructions and destination. |
Describe whether the coil will be slit, cut into sheets, bent, drawn or used in another forming operation. Include the finished-part dimensions and any surface appearance requirements. This helps our team review the requested material condition and delivery format.
For equipment that handles coils, provide the permitted inner diameter, outside diameter and coil weight. If your purchase is for cut sheets, specify the finished sheet length separately from the coil requirements.
Mechanical property requirements should identify the temper, thickness and applicable product standard. Include any required tensile strength, elongation, hardness or conductivity acceptance criteria in your purchasing specification.
If a mill test certificate or third-party inspection is required, state this with the inquiry. The required documents, inspection scope and acceptance criteria should be agreed for the order.
Provide the unloading method, storage requirements and any restrictions on package weight or dimensions. Packing, payment terms and the delivery schedule are confirmed after the material and order requirements have been reviewed.
What if I do not know the required temper?
Send the drawing, forming process and finished-part requirements. Our team can discuss the information needed for material confirmation.
How should I specify the surface?
Describe the required finish and whether either side will remain visible. Include any agreed appearance criteria or reference sample requirements.
Can I request sheets instead of coils?
Specify thickness, width and finished length, and identify the product form as sheet. Our team will review the requested delivery format separately.
Include the alloy, temper, thickness, width, tolerance, surface finish, quantity, coil dimensions, application, required documents, packing and destination.
